The 888 utilizes ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy to accurately monitor hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) concentrations in sulfur recovery tail gas.

The analyzer delivers next-level reliability, with automatic flow control, flange temperature alarm and an extended ambient temperature range providing solutions to the most common external failure modes.

There are two configurations of the 888 available for sulfur recovery measurements. The original 888 is compact and rugged, and mounts directly on to the process pipe, eliminating the complexity and safety issues of fiber-optic coupled photometers. The 888L is suitable for end users or end use locations that require the analyzer electronics and interface be located away from the sampling location. The 888L electronics and measurement enclosures can be mounted inside a shelter or at a location other than on the process pipe, and it includes a remote demister probe that is installed at the sample tap, and heated sample lines that transport the process sample gas to and from the measurement enclosure.

Designed specifically for monitoring H2S and SO2 in sulfur recovery tail gas, the 888 analyzers are built on more than 40 years of field-proven application experience, and provide an ideal solution for the hydrogen processing industry.

Key Benefits:-

Auto-flow control, an industry first

Flange temperature alarm to warn of non-functioning steam trap

Rated to 60°C (140°F) ambient temperature

No sample line, no fiber optics

No shelter, IP65/NEMA 4X rated

Safe process isolation during service

Five-year lamp life

Smart maintenance predicting diagnostics

Web-enabled interface

Based on Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS), the 5100 and 5100HD analyze components of interest in a variety of gas streams. The proven laser based measurement system is free of interferences from other sample stream components, providing fast and accurate results. Maintenance requirements are minimal. The gas stream being analyzed never contacts the key measurement components – the laser light source and detector. For samples requiring conditioning or heat to maintain the sample stream in a measurable gas phase, the 5100HD can include pressure and flow regulators, a
150degC (302deF) heater and/or a pump or eductor.

A key feature of the 5100 is the use of a sealed reference cell, which contains a known amount of analyte gas measured, for referencing the emission wavelength of the laser. The use of a reference cell enables both the ability to line-lock the lasers and to continuously verify the instrument calibration.

Measure up to three components in one AMETEK 5100HD analyzer.

KEY BENEFITS
• Fully integrated densitometer
• Automatic density compensation
• Touchscreen controls with password-protected screens
• Rapid update rates, as frequent as one per every five seconds
• Proprietary window in flowcell can withstandpressures in excess of 800psig/55bar
• Large flowcell diameter reduces interferences

APPLICATIONS
• Moisture in natural gas
• Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in fuel gases and flares
• Ethylene production
• Combustion monitoring
• Oxygen (O2) in production processes

KEY MARKETS
• Natural gas
• Chemicals
• Petrochemicals
